We picked up this Nestlé KitKat Chocolate Pistachio as part of the haul from our KitKat Chocolatory visit in early September. It’s one of a number of flavours exclusive to the store. We’d already tried all the mini-bar flavours produced in Japan (having purchased them while travelling) so these were the ones produced in Brazil.

The mini bar is a light pastel green colour and contained milk chocolate flavoured cream sandwiching the wafers that are enrobed in white chocolate that’s been mixed with 2.8% roasted pistachios.

The KitKat has a prominent aroma that very much recalled almond flavour. Upon tasting, the same almond flavour flavour came through at the head of each bite with a rounder flavour than the slightly chemical notes in the aroma. The sweetness starts off gentle before developing in prominence by mid-bite, but the overall flavour lacked the warm nuttiness and savoury smokiness note that we usually associate with roasted pistachio. If we were told it was an almond KitKat flavoured from almond flavour we’d not think to question it.
This Nestlé KitKat Chocolate Pistachio contained 11.6 g. It was produced in Brazil and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2020.
