Primo Spanish Style Tapas

The cold cuts at Bodega Tapas Bar whet our appetites for jamón serrano and Spanish cold cuts more generally. We picked up this Primo Spanish Style Tapas from our local supermarket to see if it the jamón serrano tasted as good as we remembered.

There are two slices of serrano ham in the pack. Unlike the cheaper hams available in the deli, the serrano ham has a deep pork flavour that’s immensely delicious without being too salty like the one 11-month-old jamón serrano we tried from the deli.

This is the mild chorizo salami. I like chorizo best when sliced thinly as it keeps the richness of the pork fat manageable in each bite. This one has a gentle smokiness.

This is the hot chorizo salami. I have to admit that this one tastes essentially the same as the mild one above, except whereas that one had no spice whatsoever (and so warranted the ‘mild’ label) this one had just the slightest hint more but not enough to even register as mild let alone hot.

We’re fans of the serrano ham in this pack and would love to be able to find that on its own.

This Primo Spanish Style Tapas contained 100 g. The chorizo was produced in Australia and the serrano ham was produced in Spain and it was purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2018.
