This is the Rebisco Frootees Strawberry Jam-filled Shortcakes with Honey.

In each package, there were 3 cookies, each measuring 4 cm in diameter and 1 cm in height and emitting a sweet aroma of strawberry jam. Upon tasting, the shortcake offered little resistance as it was bitten through, featuring a fine crumb but lacking a pronounced buttery flavour (as it utilized vegetable fat instead of butter). The strawberry jam center, akin to thick honey in consistency, provided a gooey textural contrast and a robust fruity sweetness that both hydrated and carried the shortcakes.
The strawberry flavor was natural and enjoyable, and the overall combination of the shortcake and strawberry brought to mind the mini strawberry tart cookies that were available in the biscuit aisle of supermarkets during the 1990s. However, even though it was a pleasant stroll down memory lane that we wouldn’t hesitate to experience again, it’s not an item we would choose to purchase.
This Rebisco Frootees Strawberry Jam-filled Shortcakes with Honey contained 32 g. It was produced in the Philippines and received as a gift from acquaintances visiting the Philippines in 2023.
