This is the Nestlé KitKat Gold.
Each block contained 11 wafer fingers (24%) covered in caramel flavoured white chocolate (76%).
These KitKat have a sweet caramel aroma. Upon tasting, the firmness of the chocolate gave way to the crunch of the wafer before a rich and deep sweetness fills the palate as the caramelised chocolate melts. On its own, the caramelised chocolate is cloyingly sweet, but the nuttiness of the wafers and the hint of cocoa in the sandwiching cream cuts through and creates a smooth flavour that recalled a Ferrero Raffaello.
I have to admit I was sceptical about the hype surrounding this bar’s release a few years ago, so my first bite was delightfully surprising. That said, I still prefer regular KitKat.
This Nestlé KitKat Gold contained 170 g. It was produced in Australia and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2018.
