A good eighteen months passed before we finally got around to trying In the Mood for Thai in Parramatta despite going past it regularly. Even then, it was raining so we decided to eat in the comfort of our own home.

To start this is the Larb Ped (4 pcs for $9.90), described as a ‘refreshing salad of finely chopped roasted duck tossed with shallots, mint, coriander, pan roasted rice, drizzled with chilli lime dressing served on baby cos lettuce leaf cups’.
The heat from the chilli in this dish is significant, but it lacked the acidity and fragrance of better Thai salads to make the heat enjoyable.

This is their Pad Thai with Chicken ($12.90), with egg, diced tofu, bean sprout and crushed peanuts.
Overall, this is a decent pad thai, although we do prefer our noodles with more bite and a punch of acidity from a lime (or lemon) and our chicken a bit less overcooked.

This is their Pad See-Eiw Noodle ($12.90) with sweet soy sauce vegetables and egg.
The noodles have a richer flavour compared to the lightness of the pad thai, although again, the chicken is tough from being overcooked.
Perhaps ordering delivery (+$1.00 for each dish via UberEats, +$5.00 delivery) meant the hot dishes suffered from prolonged resting.
In the Mood for Thai is located at 3/52-60 George St, Parramatta NSW 2150.
