This Whittaker’s Destinations Italian Piedmont Hazelnut takes on ‘the exquisite flavour of Piedmont hazelnuts, roasted, ground to a smooth paste and combine[s it] with roasted hazelnut pieces in 33% Creamy Milk chocolate’.
The chocolate has a sweet, nutty aroma. Upon tasting, the milk chocolate melts immediately to a smooth and creamy luxurious mouthfeel that’s complemented by the crunchy texture and nutty flavour of the hazelnut. Surprisingly, the combination of milk chocolate and hazelnut does not taste like gianduja, or Ferrero Rocher. Rather, the hazelnuts are toasted further and the sweetness to give the flavour a hint of bitterness.
This Whittaker’s Destinations Italian Piedmont Hazelnut contained 100 g. It was produced in New Zealand and received as a gift from relatives visiting New Zealand.
