The smokey flavour came through most prominently in the skin on the chicken, which has a pleasant caramelised char without being dry. The chicken itself is moist, although the flavour of the meat is much like that of the usual roast chicken. The stuffing, though, is tasty with a slightly tangy and smokey flavour that we enjoy in small portions. Overall, the chicken is an interesting alternative to the original, but not such an improvement that it’s worth the premium.
