We picked up these McCain Pub Style Fries one evening when we were after some thick cut fries to go with our pies. They feature a ‘signature seasoning’ that’s a blend of sea salt, paprika, onion, garlic and black pepper.

Baked from frozen in an air-fryer preheated to 210°C for 15 minutes, the chips were crisp and golden brown. Upon tasting, the chips have a crunchy skin that’s well seasoned but the soft innards have a prominent sweetness — much like potato that’s been sitting in the fridge too long and caused the starches to turn into sugars — that almost have us believing we’re eating sweet potato. While we enjoyed the texture, we’re not sure about the potato themselves.
This McCain Pub Style Fries contained 750 g. It was produced in Australia and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2019.
