This Woolworths Cookies & Cream Mudcake was a limited edition variation on the base mud cake that was released in June 2020.
The cake featured a cake with cookie pieces covered in white chocolate ganache and crumbly cookie pieces.
Served at room temperature in winter, the cake is dense and moist and very heavy. Warmed through in the microwave, though, the crumb of the cake takes on a lightness while retaining its moist mud cake quality. The cookie crumbs throughout the cake add just that hint of savoury cocoa flavour, while the majority of the sweetness comes from the melted rich white chocolate ganache on top of the cake. Overall, we enjoy this cake but prefer the original chocolate mud cake or the earlier mint chocolate variation.
