This is the CAPI Yuzu Fruit Soda. It’s made with 3% yuzu fruit juice (from concentrate) and there’s no muddling the flavours with the addition of more readily available citruses like lemon or mandarin as in other similar drinks.

The drink was an opaque off-white colour with a bright yuzu aroma and strong carbonation. Served chilled, bold yuzu notes came through from the head of each sip, starting with the fruit’s gentle sweetness that’s akin to a mandarin. The flavour developed in the body with the fruit’s characteristic tarter notes that are akin to a lemon or grapefruit before the miniature bubbles of carbonation deliver a clean finish to a most delicious and refreshing beverage.
The use of yuzu without supplementation with lemon or mandarin gave this drink its uniquely crisp and refreshing yuzu flavour that recalled the best of the yuzu drinks we’ve enjoyed in Japan. The drink is pricey but well worth it for that truly uplifting yuzu fix.
This CAPI Yuzu Fruit Soda contained 250 ml. It was produced in Australia and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2021.
