This is the Hakka Mantou Pandan.
The mantou was prepared from frozen by steaming for 10 minutes. The pandan flavour came from the green spiral section of the mantou.
The mantou had a subtle pandan aroma that came through similarly mellow on tasting, infusing each bite with a hint of its signature grassy vanilla and coconut aroma. While I initially thought I’d enjoy a bolder pandan flavour, on subsequent bites, I appreciated that the subtle flavour added just enough interest to otherwise plain mantou without overwhelming. The mantou itself had the perfect light and fluffy texture, making these an enjoyable, refined snack.
