This is the Nestlé Kitkat Chunky Lotus Biscoff.
Each bar was about 12 cm in length and featured a layer of Lotus Biscoff (or caramelised biscuit) spread on a chunky wafer and enrobed in white chocolate.
Biting through the milk chocolate, the teeth sunk into the soft Lotus Biscoff spread before encountering the resistance of the chunky wafer. The spread melts on the palate on crunching through the wafer and delivered a beautifully caramelised biscuity flavour throughout the bite. The wafer restrained the sweetness of the spread that would otherwise have overwhelmed with its cloying sweetness and slightly grainy mouthfeel. Overall, we enjoyed the contrast of the spread’s softness with the wafer’s crunch but the combination was not one for which we’d return.
This Nestlé Kitkat Lotus Biscoff contained 41.5 g. It was produced in the United Arab Emirates and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2022.
