This is the Starbucks Strawberry Açaí Lemonade Refresher ($6.30, grande). It consisted of strawberry, passion fruit and açaí flavours in a green coffee extract base, topped with lemonade, and served shaken and over ice with freeze-dried strawberry pieces.
The drink was a semi-translucent pink-red colour with a sweet and tart strawberry aroma. Served chilled, bold notes of strawberry came through at the head with a similarly intense acidity from the lemonade emerging in the body. The earthiness of the acai with its slight tartness carried through the entire sip and contributed depth to the berry flavour of the strawberry by adding its characteristic raspberry and pomegranate qualities. Overall, this was a bold and refreshing beverage, with its intense flavour best suited as an afternoon pick-me-up.
