This is the Morinaga Hi-Chew Kiwifruit. It contained kiwifruit powder and flavouring as well as juice concentrate from pumpkin and apple.
Each piece was about 3 x 1 x 1 cm in size and had an enjoyable aroma of fresh kiwifruit. Biting through, the same natural kiwifruit flavour emerged initially before chewing through the centre released a sugary sweetness. Biting through the kiwifruit seeds that came to prominence as the candy melted released the characteristic nutty fruitiness of fresh kiwifruit. While the flavour of the kiwifruit was achieved through artificial means, it was an enjoyable reproduction of the fresh fruit.
This Morinaga Hi-Chew Kiwifruit contained 35 g. It was produced in Taiwan and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2022.
