This is the Red Rock Deli Potato Chips Chef Series Crispy Fried Chicken with Hot Sauce, a limited edition flavour in collaboration with celebrity chef Colin Fassnidge.
The potato chips were dusted in a red-orange seasoning and the aroma had the typical sharpness of hot sauce. Upon tasting, the usual notes of chicken seasoning came through before the ‘hot sauce’ emerged subtly in the body with a gentle vinegary acidity before the heat built to moderate intensity in subsequent chips. The overall ‘hot sauce’ flavour tasted mostly of pepper and paprika and added only a sharpness to the usual chicken flavour without elevating it to something more complex.
