Kameda Seika Mugen Ebi

This is the Kameda Seika Mugen Ebi or ‘endless shrimp’. It used sea salt from Goto-nada in the western part of Nagasaki Prefecture.

Each rice cracker was individually sealed with each featuring a random message from the ‘ebi god’.

The cracker had a bright ebi aroma and was about 5 cm in diameter and 1 cm in height. Upon tasting, a mild yet rich savoury flavour from the fine sea salt greeted the palate before the cracker gave way with a firm crunch and released a deeply oceanic ebi flavour. The ebi notes developed with a permeating depth that spread across the palate as it combined with the sea salt from the exterior. These were immensely enjoyable crackers with their size making it a tasty bite-sized snack.

This Kameda Seika Mugen Ebi contained 83 g or 18 pieces. It was produced in Japan and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2022.
