This is the Pokka Sapporo Hoobaru Fruit Shari Shari Kakugiri Zeitaku Nashi. Translated to mean a ‘crispy, diced luxury pear’ juice, it contained 10% juice from Japanese nashi.
Served chilled after being gently inverted, the beverage exuded a crisp nashi aroma that translated brightly upon tasting. Each sip commenced with the crisp sweetness of the fruit, transitioning into an animated acidity reminiscent of the slightly tangy core of a fresh nashi. The nashi cubes, thoughtfully dispersed within each sip at approximately 2.5 mm dimensions, retained their understated crunch and the authentic texture of the freshly harvested fruit. Just as the succulent sweetness of the juice diminished, the act of biting into the pear cubes reintroduced a hint of invigorating acidity, bolstering the nashi flavour. When contrasted with the Hatai Crushed Pear Juice, this rendition exhibited a more pronounced acidity to counterbalance the pear’s sweetness, while the fruit fragments provided a bolder bite that harmonized seamlessly with every sip. Overall, this composition offered an elevated sense of refreshment and a satisfying interplay of textures and flavours, albeit with more limited availability.
