This is the Kabaya Watermelon Gumi. It was flavoured artificially.
Each gummy was a mini watermelon slice, a rectangular pyramid measuring about 2 x 1.5 x 1.5 cm. Its appearance featured an opaque red top and a pastel-green bottom. The sweet scent of watermelon emanated from it. Upon tasting, the initial touch of fine sugar offered a sweetness and crunch before reaching the gummy. The red gummy held the concentrated watermelon flavour, delivering a resilient bounce and a vivid watermelon taste that emerged with a vibrant sweetness in the body, counterbalanced by delicate acidity to prevent it from feeling overly artificial. The pastel-green bottom was softer, akin to marshmallow texture, and lacked watermelon flavour. Nonetheless, its distinct texture contrasted well with the firmer red gummy. Overall, these gummies were delightful due to their playful watermelon appearance and their enjoyable mix of toothsome flavour and texture.
This Kabaya Suika Gumi contained 50 g. It was produced in Japan and purchased in Tōkyō, Japan in 2023.
