This is the Tarami Koi 0kcal Muscat Jelly. It used muscat juice, and a blend of artificial sweeteners to achieve its claim of being zero calories.
The jelly had a translucent light green hue, with approximately ten 1.5 cm cubes of nata de coco suspended within. It emitted a sweet muscat aroma. Upon tasting, the smooth texture of the jelly delicately melted on the palate to unveil a lively muscat flavour. This flavour boasted a bright sweetness, expertly balanced by a refreshing hint of acidity, with only a subtle background bitterness from the artificial sweeteners. The inclusion of nata de coco cubes, instead of aloe as seen in the grape flavour, proved to be a significant enhancement, offering a delightful and playful elasticity that contrasted beautifully with the jelly’s softness.
Despite the discernible presence of artificial sweeteners, this jelly provided an enjoyable experience in terms of both taste and texture. However, it falls short of surpassing the Tarami Torokeru Ajiwai Shine Muscat Jelly, which remains our preferred choice.
This Tarami Koi 0kcal Muscat Jelly contained 195 g. It was produced in Japan and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2024.
