This is the Whittaker’s Artisan Collection Canterbury Hazelnut in Creamy Milk Chocolate, described as ‘an exquisite combination of silky smooth hazelnut paste (2%) and roasted Canterbury hazelnut (4%) pieces in 33% cocoa creamy milk chocolate’.
At room temperature (around 24°C), the chocolate maintained its shape, though it lacked the audible snap present when eaten chilled. On tasting, the rich hazelnut chocolate flavour was immediately noticeable as the square melted quickly on the palate, spreading a creamy, smooth texture and nutty taste. As the chocolate dissolved, the roasted hazelnut pieces emerged in the latter half of each bite, adding a satisfying crunch and rich nutty flavour that lingered long after. Overall, this bar was an excellent execution of the classic milk chocolate and hazelnut pairing, making it well worth repurchasing.
