This is the Kannoya Fukushima Momo no Wagashi, made with white peach syrup from Akatsuki peaches grown in Fukushima Prefecture, as well as semi-dried peach and peach paste. Akatsuki peaches are renowned for their vibrant pink hue, large size, and perfectly balanced sweetness.

Shaped like a peach blossom, the wagashi measured approximately 4 cm in diameter and 2 cm in height.

From the first bite, the peach flavour was immediate and vibrant, capturing the fruity sweetness of a richly flavoured white peach. The floral notes were fragrant and aromatic, enhancing the peach’s profile. The semi-dried peach provided subtle fibres, adding a delicate texture without being intrusive. The white bean paste served as a smooth and neutral base, allowing the peach’s floral and fruity notes to take centre stage. The baked exterior was thin and almost undetectable in flavour, seamlessly blending with the thick, richly flavoured peach paste. Overall, this wagashi beautifully celebrated the iconic Akatsuki peach, offering a delicious and fragrant tribute to Fukushima’s renowned produce.
This Kannoya Fukushima Momo no Wagashi contained 32 g. It was produced in Japan and purchased in Fukushima, Japan in 2024.
