The beverage had a layered appearance, with a yellow-green base of sugarcane juice topped by the dark brown hue of coffee. Consumed chilled and stirred, the sugarcane juice’s molasses-like sweetness and fresh, grassy flavour were immediately prominent, dominating the profile. The lightly oxidised Alpine Oolong reinforced the grassy notes, while its floral qualities were subtle. The coffee itself was unexpectedly weak, contributing little to the overall flavour. However, the aftertaste was smooth, with no noticeable bitterness or astringency. Ultimately, the overpowering sugarcane profile made this a beverage we would not repurchase.
