HEYTEA Supreme Brown Sugar Bobo Milk Tea

This is the Supreme Brown Sugar Bobo Milk Tea ($10.90, iced, light ice, less sugar, no cloud topping) from HEYTEA.

As part of HEYTEA’s “Adding a Touch of BOBO to the World” campaign, this limited-edition Yayoi Kusama-inspired cup design was released in celebration of Kusama’s “Life of the Pumpkin Recites, All About the Biggest Love for the People”—an art installation that opened in Shanghai in November 2024. Alongside the cup, specially crafted keychains and mugs were available from 30 December 2024. The exhibition featured Kusama’s largest pumpkin sculpture to date, a 10 m tall installation adorned with her signature polka dots.

As for the beverage itself, it had an opaque light tan hue and tasted of an unremarkable brown sugar milk tea. The tea flavour was mild, while the dairy was more pronounced—though, to their credit, it tasted like fresh milk. The less sugar option provided a reasonable sweetness but likely contributed to the lack of richness. Had the cheese foam been included, it might have added depth, but it also would have made the dairy presence overwhelming. The tapioca pearls were decent but not particularly noteworthy—a bit soft rather than chewy.

Overall, it was a forgettable drink, but the collectible Kusama cup—paired with the yellow version we received with the Mango Grapefruit Boom—made it worthwhile.

This Supreme Brown Sugar Bobo Milk Tea was purchased from HEYTEA in Sydney, Australia, in February 2025.
