Resunga Cafe & Restaurant is a well-regarded restaurant in West Ryde known for its authentic Nepalese and Indian cuisine.

Buffalo Momo (fried, 10 pieces, $16.00.99)
Buffalo mince was marinated with onion, coriander, spring onion, soy sauce, CR spices, and herbs, then wrapped in a thin pastry and fried until crisp. The momo were served hot without excess oil. The pastry was light and crispy, while the buffalo mince was tender, well-seasoned, and fragrant with coriander, spices, and herbs, without being dry.
The accompanying cashew sauce provided a rich, buttery nuttiness with a slight tang, while the Nepalese homemade achar was thinner in consistency and offered a mild tangy heat. Overall, these were flavourful and well-executed momo, making them a dish worth repurchasing.

Butter Chicken with Rice ($19.50)
This dish featured boneless tandoori chicken in a tomato-based butter gravy enriched with cream, spices, and herbs. The chicken pieces were tender and juicy, while the gravy had a pronounced sweet tomato flavour. However, a deeper spiced complexity, akin to the version from Indo Lankan in Seven Hills, would have been preferable. The rice was well-cooked.

Resunga Cafe & Restaurant delivered a satisfying meal, particularly with its well-executed buffalo momo. A return visit would be worthwhile to explore their momo in different preparations, such as steamed, and to try the chicken momo.
Resunga Cafe & Restaurant is located at 972 Victoria Rd, West Ryde NSW 2114.
