This it the Nippon Yell Gummy Kyōto Kyotango Melon, made with purée of Kyotango melon (Earl’s melon) from Kyotango City, Kyōto Prefecture. Kyotango City, facing the sea, is a producing area of delicious fruit. “Kyotango melon” is the highest quality melon grown in Kyotango City.
Each gummy had an opaque green-yellow hue, measuring about 2 cm in diameter and 1 cm in height, with a vibrant and sweet green melon aroma. On tasting, the firm, bouncy outer texture easily yielded to a softer, jelly-like core. The strawberry flavour emerged immediately, led by the rich sweetness of the jelly centre, which resembled the intense sweetness one gets closest to the centre of a melon near the seeds. Further chewing intensified the flavour as the gummy’s exterior added a refreshing acidity, extending the flavour time of the jelly centre, combining for an incredible showcase of the mellow Kyotango melon flavour with its rich aromatic sweetness. These gummies were worth repurchasing.
