This is the Dragongfruit Green Tea ($7.90, +$1.50 for for kanten pearls, regular sweet, regular ice) from Machi Machi. It featured red dragon fruit purée with jasmine green tea as its base.
It had an opaque, vibrant red-pink hue with suspended black seeds throughout. On tasting, the dragon fruit contributed a subtle nutty-sweet depth and textural interest, particularly from the seeds and purée, but lacked strong flavour presence—reflective of the fruit’s naturally mild profile. This allowed the jasmine green tea to take the lead, offering a lightly floral, sweetened green tea note, lifted by a hint of acidity from the lemon slice which subtly accentuated the tangier notes of the dragon fruit. The addition of kanten pearls added a pleasantly firm, bouncy texture that elevated the drinking experience.
Overall, a visually striking and texturally satisfying, but the flavour was too mild to leave a lasting impression. Refreshing, but not one for repurchase.
