UHA Mikakutō Puccho Juicy Nijisseiki Nashi

This is the UHA Mikakutō Puccho Juicy Nijisseiki Nashi, featuring purée from Nijisseiki nashi pears grown in Tottori Prefecture—one of Japan’s most renowned nashi producing regions. These pears are prized for their high water content, crisp texture, and delicate balance of sweetness and acidity.

Each piece consisted of a soft tan taffy wrapped around an opaque white interior, with translucent tan gummy inclusions distributed throughout. On tasting, the outer taffy offered a mellow, sweet base, while the embedded gummy pieces released a brighter, more acidic nashi profile. A faint grittiness in the white core evoked the crisp texture of fresh nashi, adding to the authenticity of the eating experience.

When chewed together, the layers merged into a vibrant and juicy expression of ripe nashi pear, capturing both the refreshing sweetness and clean finish characteristic of the fresh fruit. The flavour was notably more vivid and hydrating than the Morinaga Hi-Chew equivalent, with a longer finish and more dynamic texture.

Overall, a texturally engaging and flavour-accurate nashi candy, with greater nuance than its Hi-Chew counterpart—worth repurchasing.

This UHA Mikakutō Puccho Juicy Nijisseiki Pear contained 50 g (5 g x 10 pieces). It was produced in Japan and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2024.
