This is the Coles Easter Hot Cross Buns Arnott’s Iced VoVo Inspired. Each pack contained four buns, each measuring approximately 6 × 6 × 5 cm. They presented with a pink crumb and a darker pink cross, with clearly visible inclusions of raspberry fudge and jelly pieces, white chocolate, and desiccated coconut.

After heating in the microwave (20 seconds for one bun), the cross developed the familiar chewy texture associated with hot cross buns. The bun itself was quite dense at room temperature, though once warmed the base became slightly soggy, making it difficult to find an ideal balance. The jelly pieces held their shape better with lighter warming. Toasting would likely provide a better result.
In terms of flavour, the combination worked better than expected from the appearance. The raspberry fudge and jelly pieces contributed a light tang and fruitiness, while the white chocolate added creamy sweetness and the coconut introduced a mild nutty note. Together they created a fruity, sweet profile reminiscent of the biscuit that inspired it.
Overall, an interesting novelty bun with a pleasant fruity sweetness, though the texture and balance limit its appeal beyond a one-time try.
