Kiddo Coffee Momokawa

This is the Momokawa ($11.00) from Kiddo Coffee, featuring espresso, oat milk, vegan cream and genmaicha.

The beverage presented with a thin layer of syrup at the base, followed by a light tan latte and a thick layer of white vegan cream on top, finished with dry genmaicha loose-leaf tea.

Sipped directly from the cup, each sip combined the latte and cream. Initial contact delivered an immediate, distinct sweet floral undertone that was particularly apparent from the base of the cup before stirring, suggesting a jasmine- or white-peach-infused syrup despite neither being listed among the components. This floral sweetness carried through the oat milk base, which contributed a mild, naturally sweet and cereal-forward profile.

The vegan cream reinforced the sweetness while adding a rich, creamy texture. The dry genmaicha introduced a contrasting texture, with the green tea leaves becoming chewy as they softened and the popped rice providing a light nutty crunch. This gave the otherwise smooth, creamy beverage a notable textural variation.

Overall, a latte with a layered flavour trajectory and contrasting creamy, chewy and crunchy textures, resulting in an unusual but cohesive structure. The use of genmaicha was particularly interesting.

This Momokawa was purchased from Kiddo Coffee in Sydney, Australia in September 2026.
