DaYung’s Passionfruit Yakult

We take the opportunity to pick up a drink at DaYung’s to fuel us while we do our grocery shopping in Campsie.

This is DaYung’s Passionfruit Yakult ($6.80, no ice, 30% sugar, +$0.60 for aloe vera). The drink was a translucent pastel yellow colour with a generous amount of passionfruit seeds at the base and pulp at the top. Consumed chilled, the passionfruit Yakult has the same tropical flavour as a Streets Frosty Fruit with the sweet-tart passionfruit flavour coming through the beginning and into the body before the lightly acidic yoghurt flavour of Yakult emerged in the finish. The passionfruit seeds add some crunch that cuts through some of the sweetness.

While we enjoy the drink, the service at DaYung’s leaves a lot to be desired. The staff could not make less effort to acknowledge customers. We stood waiting at the counter to order and it was a good 2 minutes before a girl came to the counter, stood behind it while looking busy on her phone, making no effort to either greet us or take our order, and did not take our order until we lost patience. While other places may not be the best, they at least may some effort to serve the customer. It’s unfortunate that there are so few competitors for bubble tea in Campsie but I’d sooner forgo my bubble tea fix than spend money at a shop that’s soo reluctant to take it.

This Passionfruit Yakult was ordered at DaYung’s located at 13/15 Anglo Road, Campsie NSW 2194 in April 2019.
