This is the Brown Sugar Deerioca & Creme Brulee Fresh Milk ($7.20, +$0.60 for large, fixed ice, fixed sweetness) from The Alley LuJiaoXiang. It consisted of fresh milk with brown sugar pearls and creme caramel pudding as toppings. The drink was described as ‘creme brulee’ but we’ve neither seen nor tasted any actual ‘brulee’ action happening so it seemed safe to say it was just creme caramel.
Consumed chilled, the beverage had a caramelised sweetness that came from the addition of the creme caramel pudding, which added both an extra level of creaminess to the drink as well as a more complex sweetness than the regular fresh milk version of the drink that relied solely on the sweetness from the brown sugar pearls. That said, we still enjoyed the brown sugar pearls, which delivered on their delectable bounce. Overall, this was an enjoyable drink that elevated the original Brown Sugar Deerioca & Fresh Milk substantially.
