The Three Chocolatiers opened their store in Parramatta Westfield just in time for Christmas. As with their other stores, there’s a drinks counter next to the register. This is their Iced Rocky Road Hot Chocolate ($5.70).
I had great expectations of a rocky road flavoured hot chocolate, so I was disappointed to discover it’s just an ordinary hot chocolate made over ice with a 4 cm length of their Rocky Road floated on top. Initial expectations aside, the iced hot chocolate itself has a smooth milk chocolate flavour, although it lacked the rich creaminess of the ones from Max Brenner and started tasting thin as the ice melted. The rocky road does not impart any flavour to the chocolate itself and floats around in the drink until the end where it’s messy to retrieve. Perhaps the hot version of the drink will help the rocky road melt for a better flavour.
