This is the Wuwu Milk Tea with Lychee Tea Cube (50% off opening special, normally $6.80, no ice, no sugar) from Bengong Black. The drink was a translucent light tan colour with a mellow tea aroma coming through. Consumed chilled, the tea flavour came through as a moderately fragrant black tea while the tea cubes were lacklustre. I was excited initially by these tea cubes before realising that fruit flavoured konjac based jellies are a dime a dozen in toppings for milk teas. And these tea cubes do not compare as they’re made with a crumbly agar agar base and have none of the bite or chew that comes with konjac jellies. On top of that their flavour was subtle and easily overwhelmed by the milk tea itself.
This Wuwu Milk Tea with Lychee Tea Cube was ordered at Bengong’s Tea & Bakery in August 2019.
