Bubble Nini Tea recently came out with a cold brew range. This Cold Brewed Jasmine Green Tea with Rose ($8.00) is the first of the series. The cold-brewed green tea is added to the bottle upon ordering, after which the rose tea bag containing the rose petals steep for 8 hours before consuming within three days.
After infusing with the rose petals, the tea was a transparent red-brown colour with a prominent rose aroma that avoids headiness. Consumed chilled, bright notes of rose came through at the head with a notable sweetness that’s well restrained by a subtle acidity in the body before the rose notes recede briefly for the dewy jasmine notes to finish the sip with minimal astringency. The tea is sweetened and, together with the boldness of the rose, gave the tea a somewhat viscous ‘thick’ mouthfeel that’s unlike the usual lightness of jasmine teas. Overall, it’s an enjoyable and refreshing tea.
