This is the Gotcha Golden Passionfruit Green Tea (large, $7.00, 25% ice, fixed sweetness). The drink was a translucent orange colour with rainbow jelly, golden pearls and passionfruit pulp layered within. Consumed chilled, the passionfruit came through sweet and tart from the fruit syrup and tastes much like the one used at more mainstream brands like Chatime with only a disappointing speckling of pulp. The rather pedestrian passionfruit flavour aside, the rainbow jellies had good bite and sweetness, while the golden pearls were tender and chewy with an enjoyable natural sweetness and flavour. Overall, this drink was disappointing and for the premium paid, I expected something more along the lines of the decked out versions at Coco Fresh Tea and Bubble Nini.
This Golden Passionfruit Green Tea was purchased from Gotcha Fresh Tea in Sydney, Australia in 2019.
