Linlee Pineapple & Passion Fruit Lemon Tea

This is the Pineapple & Passion Fruit Lemon Tea ($9.90; less ice, 50% sugar) from Linlee, featuring highland-roasted green tea scented five times with jasmine blossoms from Hengxian, Guangxi, alongside pineapple, passionfruit and lemon.

The beverage presented with an opaque yellow hue, with two slices of green-skinned lemon, floating juice vesicles released from the slices being smashed with ice, crushed pineapple and black passionfruit seeds. Aroma opened with tropical fruit notes and fresh, zesty citrus.

Initial contact delivered immediate tropical pineapple notes alongside mellow sweetness. Through the mid-palate, the perfumed lemon emerged, providing an aromatic citrus lift without pronounced sourness. Towards the finish, the sweet-tart passionfruit carried the sip through, accompanied by a soft floral presence from the jasmine tea. The flavour progression was refreshing, with the tropical fruit, citrus and tea contributing distinct layers. However, the paper straw lacked sufficient structural integrity to move the ice reliably, while the crushed pineapple was difficult to draw through the straw. Consequently, most of the pineapple was left to be eaten after the liquid had been consumed and the ice melted, limiting the integration of the fruit inclusions into the drink itself. Enjoyable, although the pineapple lacked the richness of the Taiwanese black diamond variety used by Tea & Co.

Overall, a tropical fruit tea with a progression from mellow pineapple sweetness to aromatic lemon and sweet-tart passionfruit, supported by floral jasmine tea, resulting in a refreshing, layered profile that was let down by the limited accessibility of its fruit inclusions.

This Pineapple & Passion Fruit Lemon Tea was purchased from Linlee in Sydney, Australia, in October 2026.
