This is the Iceplantze “MOCHI” Dessert Soy Matcha & Sakura, a frozen dessert combining soy-based matcha ice cream with sakura sauce, wrapped in mochi.

This was well offset by the sweetness of the sakura sauce in the centre, which contrasted with the creaminess of the ice cream through its more jelly-like texture. The sakura flavour was bright and floral, with a soft acidity and balanced sweetness that provided a sweet, almost fruity counterpoint to the matcha. The combination delivered good textural contrast and complementary flavours.
Overall, a mochi-wrapped frozen dessert with a progression from mellow, slightly bitter matcha to sweet, floral sakura, supported by contrasting chewy, creamy and jelly-like textures.
