Initial contact delivered an aromatic Phoenix oolong presence, with 50% sugar providing just enough sweetness to carry the sourness of the lemon without becoming excessive. Through the mid-palate, the tea and lemon remained balanced and appeared in equal measure, with neither dominating the other. Compared with the version from Ningji, the tea presence was stronger and more balanced, while remaining less intense than the version from Order Lemon. The lemon extraction or hand-punching process also appeared to draw out less bitterness than Order Lemon, despite a similar intensity of lemon flavour. The combination of tea, lemon and sweetness was smoother as a result, with no discernible astringency or bitterness. Refreshing, and worth repurchasing.
