This is the Thai Green Punch Lemon Tea ($9.80, with additional charges of $1.10 for king size and $1.50 for osmanthus jello; ordered with no lemon, 50% sugar, and no ice).
The drink had a striking deep green hue. On tasting, it offered a bold, tangy presence of lemon over a strong green tea base, with the grassy notes of the tea accentuated by the vanilla-like pandan and the dewy floral quality of jasmine. Initially, the combination was somewhat unusual, evoking a lime-flavoured creaming soda due to the interplay of lemon with the floral and vanilla notes of pandan, creating a resemblance to artificial cordial concentrate. However, as the sip lingered, the more nuanced characteristics of the pandan and jasmine emerged, distinct from the dominant green tea and lemon. Mid-sip, the astringency of the strong green tea became particularly pronounced, resulting in a puckering mouthfeel that was not entirely pleasant.
While this Thai green tea was interesting and enjoyable to try, it is not one we would choose over our usual Phoenix Aroma tea base.
