TopTea White Champaca Milk Tea

This is the White Champaca Milk Tea ($7.50, no ice, less sugar) from TopTea. The beverage had an opaque off-white hue.

When consumed chilled, the first impression was distinctly floral, with a magnolia-like aroma characteristic of white champaca. Through the mid-palate, a light astringency appeared from the green tea base. This gave the drink a slightly sharper edge compared with milk teas built on oolong bases, such as those used by Molly Tea, which tend to feel smoother and rounder. The milk component provided a reasonably full mouthfeel, with a velvety texture similar in weight to Molly Tea’s milk teas. However, the green tea astringency interrupted that smoothness and reduced the overall sense of balance. The floral quality remained present but came across as less refreshing than expected.

Overall, a decent floral milk tea with good body, though the green tea astringency and long wait times make it difficult to justify over smoother alternatives.

This White Champaca Milk Tea was purchased from TopTea in Sydney, Australia in March 2026.
