Woorisool Peach Makgeolli

This is the Woorisool Peach Makgeolli, featuring makgeolli flavoured with peach juice. It contained 3% alcohol.

The beverage presented with an opaque off-white hue, with visible sediment fully reincorporated prior to consumption. Aroma opened with sweet yellow peach, supported by soft fermented rice notes and moderate aromatic intensity.

Initial contact delivered immediate rice character with a mellow sweetness, alongside a smooth and lightly effervescent mouthfeel. Gentle carbonation provided lift without disrupting the beverage’s creamy texture.

Through the mid-palate, yellow peach flavour expanded across the palate, bringing natural fruit sweetness, moderate acidity for juiciness, and a subtle floral dimension. The peach integrated cleanly with the fermented rice base rather than sitting apart from it. Texture remained rounded and cohesive throughout, with no detectable particulate despite the visible sediment, resulting in a smooth and consistent structure.

Towards the finish, a gentle alcohol presence emerged without introducing lingering heat, bitterness, burn, or drying tannin. Flavour gradually resolved into a softer combination of peach and fermented rice, while the body thinned cleanly. Aftertaste carried a fruity yellow peach profile reminiscent of golden peaches preserved in syrup, supported by a faint residual rice sweetness.

Overall, a smooth, fruit-forward makgeolli with integrated yellow peach flavour, restrained alcohol presence, and a clean finish.

This Woorisool Peach Makgeolli contained 750 mL. It was produced in South Korea and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2026.
