A long enough time had passed since trying the lacklustre Mishka Tasty Apple Lychee Vodka that we’d manage to convince ourselves to try the Mishka Luscious Berry – not least because it’s a more natural berry colour than the radioactive fluorescent green of the apple lychee.
The vodka is a transparent jewel-like purple-red with a moderate carbonation and a mellow berry nose that reminds of port wine in both colour and aroma. A gentle sweetness came through in the head before the berry notes develop in the body. The berry flavour was enjoyable and recalled briefly the sweetness mulberry with a hint of raspberry, but it’s not particularly sophisticated or attributable to a particular red berry. The sweetness recedes to a slightly bitter finish characteristic of vodka before leaving a clean after-taste.
This Mishka Lucious Berry Vodka contained 275 ml. It was bottled in France and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2017.
