This is the Caffe Bene Sweet Americano. It contained 0.83% coffee extract and 0.56% coffee powder, and 64 mg caffeine (equivalent to that in a single espresso shot) and 5.7% sugar.
The coffee was a semi-translucent dark brown-black colour with a gentle roasted coffee aroma. Served chilled, gentle roasted coffee notes emerged at the head of each sip and developed with a mild acidity in the body while the subtle hint of bitterness in the background became notable in the finish and lingered briefly in the aftertaste.
When served over ice — as suggested on the packaging — the ice diluted the coffee excessively and left a dominating sugar cane sweetness without notable coffee notes. While enjoyable as an easily accessible sweet beverage, the coffee itself lacked the aromatic depth from one black prepared fresh or with Nespresso pods.
This Caffe Bene Sweet Americano contained 190 mL. It was produced in South Korea and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2022.
