Nissin Koikeya Foods Potato Chips Demae Iccho Sesame Oil Flavour

These Demae Iccho Sesame Oil Flavour Potato Chips were part of a snack series created as a joint venture between Nissins Foods in China/Hong Kong and Kokeiya in Japan. Their sesame oil flavour was directly inspired by the original Demae Iccho Sesame Oil Flavour instant noodles that are widely eaten in Hong Kong.

The chips were a crinkle cut but with miniature waves compared to those available in Western supermarkets. This smaller wave gave them less crunch but more surface area for the seasoning, which this chip delivered in droves. The flavour was mostly comprised of a pronounced sweetness with a more subtle quality form of soy sauce and MSG before the sesame oil lingered gently in the finish. These were enjoyable crisps but do not recall the strong sesame oil flavour of the original instant noodles.

This Nissin Koikeya Foods Potato Chips Demae Iccho Sesame Oil Flavour contained 50 g. It was produced in China and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2022.
