I tried this Dare Cold Brew Latte on a whim after noticing they’d switched to a new blend using ‘2 natural ingredients’ — fresh milk and cold brew coffee extract, that cuts out the sugar. Consumed chilled, the coffee was a translucent pale brown colour with a lightly sweet aroma of coffee that recalled freeze dried coffee. Upon tasting, a moderate bitterness came through followed by a creamy mouthfeel from the milk before actual notes of coffee emerge towards the end of each sip. Overall, the coffee had a prominent milkiness that lacked body and is without the complexity or depth of flavour that makes coffee so enjoyable ordinarily. As most bottled coffees taste like intensely sweet milk, the lack of added sugar in this coffee puts it a step above.
