This Kaffir Lime & Lychee Breeze ($9.00) is one of the ‘bespoke non-alcoholic cocktails’ on offer at Holy Duck! on Kensington Street in Chippendale. It consisted of fresh pressed apple, fresh squeezed lemon, kaffir lime and lychee over ice. Consumed chilled, the notes of kaffir lime dominate over the sweet apple and zesty lemon base to give a quintessentially Thai flavour to the mocktail that reminds of the fragrant lime in savoury Thai dishes. There’s no lychee flavour in the drink itself, but the canned lychees add an extra pop of sweetness that contrasted well with the zestiness of the drink. Overall, it’s an enjoyable and refreshing twist on a lime and lychee, although definitely not worth the price for the small 10 cm tall glass.
