For us, alcohol is very much an occasional beverage that comes around when we spot something in an interesting flavour because until recently, companies seemed to have poured all their energies into that sector. So we were delighted to find this Summer Snow Juice Sparkling Pink Lady & Raspberry on the shelves in the juice section. Something interesting and non-alcoholic, and although pricey, still cheaper than alcohol.
The juice is a clear golden yellow colour with a crisply sweet and slightly tart aroma of fresh Pink Lady apples and mild carbonation. Served chilled, sweet notes of Pink Lady apples came through with a mellowness and roundness of flavour that’s in contrast to sharpness of other sparkling apple juices and the apple ciders. Mid-sip, the raspberry came through with subtle yet distinct hints of berry that develop in prominence towards the finish before the bubbles clear the palate for a clean aftertaste. We enjoy this premium apple juice very much, but we don’t dislike the sharpness of other sparkling apple juices sufficiently to return frequently.
