Asahi Mitsuya Mediterranean Blood Orange

This is the Asahi Mitsuya Mediterranean Blood Orange. It contained up to 10% juice from blood oranges grown in the Mediterranean.

The beverage was an almost opaque light orange hue, exuding a vibrant zesty citrus aroma, and featured a moderate carbonation. When consumed chilled, bright zesty notes of blood orange took the forefront with each sip. The blood orange flavor began with a rich sweetness, distinct from regular oranges, carrying a signature hint of raspberry. Mid-sip, the flavour evolved with a refreshing tartness, reminiscent of fresh blood oranges. The tartness surpassed the usual intensity found in Mitsuya drinks, lingering for a brisk finish before the bubbles cleansed the palate for a clean aftertaste.

Overall, this blood orange beverage successfully encapsulated the sun-kissed essence of the fruit in the Mediterranean, offering a remarkably refreshing carbonated reprieve from the summer’s heat. The flavour was similar to the Sanpellegrino Aranciata Rossa, which is more readily available.

This Asahi Mitsuya Mediterranean Blood Orange contained 500 mL. It was produced in Japan and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2024.
