Asahi Mitsuya Orange

This is the Asahi Mitsuya Orange, originally launched in 1908 and reissued in 2025 to mark the brand’s 140th anniversary. It did not contain fruit juice.

The beverage had a semi-opaque, bright orange hue with a sweet orange aroma and a gentle level of carbonation.

Consumed chilled, it opened with sweet orange notes that quickly developed into a more aromatic mid body, reminiscent of a light spritz of orange zest. These lifted notes softened into the second half of the sip, where a subtle acidity emerged, leading into a smooth and mellow orange finish. The carbonation, while restrained, provided just enough lift to create a clean aftertaste without sharpness.

Overall, this was a mellow, easy-drinking orange soda with a rounded flavour and soft carbonation. Its refreshing quality came less from effervescence and more from its smooth balance, making it very drinkable and easy to finish.

This Asahi Mitsuya Orange contained 300 mL. It was produced in Japan and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2025.
