This Mount Franklin Lightly Sparkling Raspberry is a new format for sparkling water, but without the sugar, preservatives and sweeteners that usually come with canned beverages.
The beverage was transparent and colourless with a subtle sweet raspberry nose and a prominent carbonation. Served chilled, the carbonation is immediately evident with a gentle bitterness, much like ordinary sparkling water, with an unsweetened hint of raspberry coming through in the body before disappearing swiftly as the bubbles clear the palate and leave a clean and flavourless aftertaste. Overall, the beverage tastes as described: it’s sparkling water with just enough of a hint of natural raspberry flavour to be detectable on the palate.
